The Medlite® II Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser has become the standard laser for tattoo removal. This laser effectively removes black, blue, purple and red tattoo pigment.

Q-Switched lasers deliver very high power, in very short pulses of laser light. The laser light passes through the skin and breaks up the particles of tattoo pigment, which are then removed by the body.

The Medlite® II Q-Switched Frequency Doubled Nd:YAG Laser emits two different wavelengths. The 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths make the Q-Switched Nd:YAG an excellent modality for the removal of tattoos and pigmented lesions. The 1064nm wavlength is excellent treatment for black and blue ink colors, while the 532nm wavelength is absorbed by red, orange, and purple colored ink.

The treatment is fast and safe, requiring little to no anesthesia. The 532nm wavelength may also be effective in removing brown age spots.
